A Link to the Past

It’s finally hiatus! So, instead of writing a post, I’m just going to recommend a bunch of links.

Who over the age of 45 gets this reference without having to Google it?
TAPA finally gets to relax.

First up, some fellow below-the-line bloggers have plugged my Kickstarter campaign for Crew Call: The Below the Line Podcast.{{1}} Mike Taylor was kind enough to be the first test-case guest. He seems to think he didn’t do a good job, but when you hear his episode, I think you’ll disagree.

Even Luzi, likewise, was a test case as well as shameless plugger. Evan was the 4th trial (I think), so his episode is slightly more refined than Mike’s. He’s also been writing a lot recently about women in film. You should check those posts out.

I had asked AJ at The Hills are Burning to be a guest, but she declined, siting her anonymity. Did you even know she was anonymous? I always assumed “AJ” were her actual initials, and the photo on her “about” page was actually, you know, her. Nope! It’s an album cover.

You should check out her thoughtful piece about Sarah Jones. It’s important for everyone to read this, but especially my younger readers, who may not fully understand what is and is not safe on set.

Mike also has an interesting story about safety. On a lighter note, here’s his post about his show’s wrap party.

And if you don’t follow me on Twitter, you may not have heard that I was interviewed by Us vs. Film. My interview starts around 29:20, but I recommend listening to the whole thing; Blaise and James have a great chemistry when discussing movies.

And, of course, I should plug the Kickstarter campaign for Crew Call: The Below-the-Line Podcast{{2}} one more time:

[[1]]Do I have to write it out like that every time to maintain brand awareness? That sounds stupid and corporate, like Disney insists on referring to California Adventure as “Disney’s California Adventure Park.”[[1]]

[[2]]Ugh, I did it again.[[2]]
