It was a hot, hot Fourth of July weekend, succeeded by a hot, hot fifth of July.
The production office’s air conditioning went down yesterday. We have (barely) survived the day on copious amounts of water and popsicles. All day, I struggled to muster the motivation to write a post for today. “It’s too hot!” I kept telling myself. “How could anybody write anything funny or feebly insightful in such heat!?”
Then I thought about my hero:
Back in those days, they shot their movies all summer long with only the big 10k in the sky to light their sets. The tramp sweat through a shirt, tie, vest, jacket, and hat, and still managed to be the funniest act in town.
I’ll be back at it soon, heat or no heat.
