How’s My Hosting?

TAPAlooza III: Season of the Witch{{1}} was last night. Considering it was a weeknight at a wine bar, the vibe was a lot different than the last two meet-ups.

Not a great episode, but I will always remember this scene as my introduction to the Algonquin Round Table.
“So, I said, I must get out of these wet clothes and into a dry martini.”

The problem with most networking events is that the people who go are people who need jobs, which is why they’re attending the event in the first place. That didn’t seem to be the case last night, though; pretty much everyone had a job, or at least a show lined up in the near future.

Last night was a lot more about making connections than asking for work, which is what I always hope for. It’s not easy making friends in a city as sprawling as Los Angeles, where everyone’s locked in their car, holed up in an air-conditioned office, or toiling away quietly in their own department away from everyone else.

That being said, I want to make sure the events are useful and fun for all of my readers. I have a few questions to that end:

If you have other thoughts and opinions that can’t be expressed in poll form, please leave a comment below. Or email me. Or send me a Tweet. A singing telegram would be nice.

One more week to go on the Kickstarter campaign for Crew Call! Let’s finish strong.
